Getting Started

Fantasy hockey is a game that allows you to create and manage your own virtual hockey team composed of real NHL players. Your team earns points based on the real-life performance of your selected players. Here’s how to get started:

1. Download the App

   Enter your email in our form to receive a download link for our app. Install it on your mobile device.

2. Create an Account

   Sign up with your email, create a password, and fill in your profile details.

3. Join a League

   You can join a public league or create a private one to play with friends. Each league has a set number of managers (typically 8-12).

4. Prepare for the Draft

   Research players, create a draft strategy, and rank players based on your preferences.

The Draft

The draft is where you select the players for your team. It’s one of the most exciting parts of fantasy hockey!

Draft Types

• Snake Draft: The draft order reverses each round (e.g., if you pick 1st in round 1, you’ll pick last in round 2).
• Auction Draft: Each manager has a budget to bid on players.

Draft Strategy Tips

• Focus on filling all positions (Centers, Wingers, Defensemen, Goalies)
• Consider players who contribute in multiple statistical categories
• Don’t reach for players too early – understand player value
• Keep track of which positions are becoming scarce

Managing Your Team

After the draft, the real management begins:

Weekly Activities

• Set your lineup for upcoming matches
• Add/drop players from the free agent pool
• Propose and review trades with other managers
• Monitor player injuries and status updates

Strategic Considerations

• Check scheduled games – players with more games in a week have more opportunities to score points
• Consider matchups – some players perform better against certain teams
• Balance your roster to maximize all statistical categories
• Stay ahead of trends and hot streaks

Scoring and Winning

Your goal is to accumulate the most points each week in head-to-head leagues, or over the entire season in rotisserie leagues.

League Formats

• Head-to-Head: You face a different opponent each week, with the winner determined by who scores more points.
• Rotisserie (Roto): Teams are ranked in each statistical category, with points awarded based on rankings.
• Points Only: Simple accumulation of points over the season.
